Purpose
This Fair Use Policy is designed to ensure that all Shashin users can enjoy the Service equally and that no individual user's excessive usage negatively impacts the experience of others. This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and supplements our Terms of Service.
Reasonable Use
While we offer subscription plans with specific quotas, we understand that usage patterns vary. We define "reasonable use" as usage that:
- Aligns with your subscription plan's intended purpose
- Follows normal photobooth and event photography patterns
- Does not abuse or exploit service features
- Does not negatively impact our infrastructure or other users
Storage Limits
Plan-Based Storage
Each subscription tier includes a specified storage quota:

Exceeding Limits
If you exceed your storage quota:
- You'll receive a notification with options to upgrade or delete content
- New uploads may be blocked until you're within your quota
- We may provide a grace period to manage your storage
API and Automation Limits
Rate Limits
API access is subject to rate limits to ensure service stability:

1,000 req/hour
10 photo uploads/hour
Pro
5,000 req/hour
50 photo uploads/hour
Enterprise
20,000 req/hour
200 photo uploads/hour
Automated Access
Automated access to the Service must:
- Use official API endpoints (when available)
- Include proper authentication
- Respect rate limits and throttling
- Not use web scraping or unauthorized tools
AI Feature Usage
Processing Limits
AI features (filters, enhancements, generation) have fair use limits:
AI photo generation consumes credits from your account (5 credits per photo generation). AI video generation consumes 25 credits per video and is available only on Pro and Enterprise tiers. Credits are allocated with your subscription and can also be purchased as additional credit packages. Credits expire one (1) year from purchase or allocation.

- Designed for normal photo editing workflows
- Bulk processing should use our official bulk tools
- Excessive or abusive usage may be throttled
Prohibited AI Usage
The following AI usage is prohibited:
- Training competing AI models
- Creating harmful or illegal content
- Circumventing content filters or safety measures
- Reselling AI outputs without authorization
- Generating deepfakes or non-consensual imagery of real individuals
Credit Usage
Credit Allocation
Credits are the currency for AI photo and video generation. Each subscription tier includes a monthly credit allocation:
Basic
80 credits
~16 AI generations/month
Pro
330 credits
~66 AI generations/month
Enterprise
1,300 credits
~260 AI generations/month
Credit Policies
- Each AI photo generation costs 5 credits
- Each AI video generation costs 25 credits (Pro and Enterprise tiers only)
- Credits expire one (1) year from the date of purchase or allocation
- Credits are consumed on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis
- Additional credit packages are available for purchase
- Credits consumed for successfully completed generations are non-refundable. Credits for failed or cancelled generations are automatically refunded. Credits are non-transferable between accounts
Bandwidth and Transfer
While we don't impose strict bandwidth limits, excessive bandwidth usage that impacts service performance may be subject to:
- Investigation and review
- Temporary throttling during peak times
- Request to upgrade to a higher tier
Session and Event Limits
Concurrent Sessions
Your subscription tier determines the number of concurrent kiosk sessions:

Enterprise
Unlimited*
*Fair use applies
Session Duration
There are no strict time limits on session duration, but sessions idle for more than 24 hours may be automatically closed to free up resources.
Prohibited Activities
The following activities violate this Fair Use Policy:
Resource Abuse
Intentionally consuming excessive resources
Service Reselling
Reselling service access without authorization
Multi-Account Abuse
Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits
System Testing
Using the Service for stress testing or benchmarking without permission
Data Mining
Extracting large amounts of data for purposes outside normal usage
Monitoring and Enforcement
Usage Monitoring
We monitor service usage to:
- Ensure service quality and performance
- Detect potential abuse or security issues
- Optimize infrastructure and costs
- Comply with this Fair Use Policy
Enforcement Actions
If we determine that usage violates this policy, we may:

- 3Temporarily throttle or limit features
- 4Suggest an appropriate upgrade path
- 5In severe cases, suspend or terminate access
Enterprise and High-Volume Users
If your usage patterns require higher limits, we offer Enterprise plans with:
- Custom quotas and rate limits
- Dedicated infrastructure
- Priority support
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
